Fear
Ancient trees wrapped in creepers
The forest asleep in deep shade
My heart racing
My blood terror-stricken
Excited I see
The hidden faces
The falling masks
Across the filtering light
Which reaches my roots
Why did I come here
Alone
And brought the one
Who was not?
=======================
Faceless
This aeroplane
Journey
Flight
This window amidst clouds
Itג€™s me
Shut your eyes for a moment
Voice in your
heart
Faceless

Did you hear?
All night long your restlessness
Walked the wet streets of Lisbon
Pitter-patter
A silent moan
Woke me up at day-break
A bird twittering at dawn
As if startled from its sleep by some sound
All night long your restlessness, awake
Kept on walking, looking, with eyes shut
Inside me
The sound shattered in the oceanג€™s sigh
Amidst the rising waves
Turning over in the folds of sheets
Did you hear the bird too?

School
First I found a book cover
Than a pad
Nothing else was left in my schoolbag after all these years
I woke up as soon as I heard the bell
There was nobody on the playground, no one in 10 B
ג€˜Is it a school holiday today?ג€™, I thought
The aeroplane was somewhere over Europe and I
In my old school
The earth took a breath
The ocean laughed
The sky was searching for the infinite
Long ago I carved my name on a desk
A date
Faint under the skin of time
The wind unfurls an afternoon
The root of some memory
I am the wall
Whose crack has sheltered the Peepal tree.
=========================
Blink
On naked trees
On walls ripped open
On homeless houses
On lost roads
On hungry fields
On forgotten memories
On restless windows
On a noon spent in hidden shadows
A gentle touch
I cover it with my palms
When I open my eyes
The inert universe
resounds.
=========================
Whirlpool
Wrapped in grapevines
Noon falls asleep in the sun
In the deep shade
Demons sleep
Soldiers sleep
Heroes sleep
Time sleeps snoring
Repeating itself in the cursed present.
=========================
If
Theyג€™ll die
And the waves will vanish
The river will turn into stone
Fish will fossilise in the water
The boat will lose its shore
If the wave-swans die
Weג€™ll
stop still
Searching for the present in the past.
