Steven Heumann ’92
Following graduation from SSDS, Steven attended Brandeis University, where he majored in Political Science. Steven participated in a wide range of activities at Brandeis, including a stint as the Boston Celtics' ball boy during the team's practices on Brandeis' facilities, coordinator of the first-ever on-campus concert by Jewish musical artist, Avraham Fried (which attracted over 800 people), and a member of the school's lacrosse team. Following graduation in 1996, Steven took a job with Entersport, a sports agency, focusing on basketball players in the U.S. and Europe. Steven represented several players who went on to be drafted in the National Basketball Steven Heumann - continued Association, including Oded Katash, currently in the Los Angeles Lakers’ summer league, who hopes this season to become the first Israeli to ever play in the NBA. Steven’s job included extensive travel, primarily to Europe and Asia, where he scouted new talent.
In 1998, Steven entered NYU Law School, where he is scheduled to graduate in May. He has accepted a job at the New York law firm of Debevoise & Plimpton, where he will practice in the firm’s corporate department, focusing on their sports mergers and acquisitions practice. Steven continues to work at Entersport and intends to keep a hand in the business following graduation.
While at NYU, Steven met his wife-to-be, Simona Weinberg, of Teaneck, NJ, a doctoral student in economics who is scheduled to get her degree next June. The two were married this past March and now live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Steven’s father, Professor Milton Heumann, Chairman of the Political Science Department at Rutgers University, married SSDS’ own Chairperson of the Foreign Language Department, Monica Friedman (now Heumann), in 1993. The two currently live in East Brunswick, NJ.

Steven was recently featured as the main commodity for the “professional basketball game with a sports agent” listing, and is currently being offered for the “professional baseball game with a sports agent” outing. As the site says, for a mere $100, you can “attend a major league baseball game with a real life Jerry Maguire.” Wouldn’t Sandy be proud?
