I don't see how this is bad. the quality of time spent together has nothing to do with what the child is holding and everything to do with what level of attention the parent is giving. I love reading and enjoy the touch and smell of a book. but I also recognize that this is just a personal bias. in 20 years when books will be downloaded directly to our brain, our kids (tomorrow's parents), will complain that the download doesn't feel like the iPad...
