Simple fact is that when one shut down a producing oil well the pore pressure builds up. Thus the flow will be increasing for a short period after the well will be re-opened. However, what is important is the amount of oil and the pressure over the long run. (the important factor is the history of the
production). Simple pressure transient analysis is needed to quantitatively predict the well performance without going into expensive EoR process.
