The wirte is attempting to show off some personal experience he had? The BMW M5 has not been in production for over 2 years now. The car shown in the pictures is indeed the old M5. BMW came out with a new 5 Series at the end of 2003 and have not yet followed up with a new M5. Currently the highest model in production is the 440 Horsepower 545i. The American model was 440. The new one is 520 horsepower. This new vehicle is 520 Horsepower - NOT the old 440 mentioned in this article. Trust me on this one. I work for BMW North America.
