The idea of this decsion in South Dakota was not to change things in South Dakota, it's mainly to challenge the Roe vs. Wade decision of the Supreme Court. Now that there are two new judges, the right wing believes it is time to challenge the decision and change things in the entire country, not South Dakota.
The decision will be challened and the Supreme Court will rule on it, a rulling that will impact the US in entirety.
