I personally never stopped being impressed by how eloquently he spoke and the humanity of this battle-proven general-turned-statesman One just has to notice the decorum and respect in the US. He had his differences with his boss and decided to step down. There is no dirty laundry or nasty language like in the Knesset. He just thanks his nation for the privilage and steps down and wishes the best of luck to his successor. His political career has ended. Time to spend time with the family. Compare and cotrast to politics in Israel. I guess the 2 only similarities are that he was a general and both countries are democracies. Other than that, it's day and night. If it were Israel he would leak to the press dirt about Bush and how he could have done better all along, then try to call for early elections to try to unseat the President (Netanyahu).
